Meagan Garcia

CEO/Billing Manager

Meagan Garcia has been with Concordis Practice Management for over 4 years and is now the new owner.  Meagan has over 10 years of medical office and billing experience; which includes everything from insurance verification and processing medical bills to credentialing providers with insurance companies. She is experienced with AdvancedMD, Amazing Charts, MOMS, Kareo, Athena, Dr. Chrono, and can easily learn any practice management system’s billing software.

 

Before joining Concordis, Meagan was the Billing Team Lead Specialist at a General Surgery practice in San Antonio. Meagan was in banking prior to making the transition to medical practice billing, which gives her the attention-to- detail skills necessary for medical billing.

Meagan can meet with our billing clients periodically to review account activity with the practice’s leadership.  She focuses on ensuring the client’s collections meet the expected payment for each payer.  She makes a nice addition to the medical practice’s team that she serves.

 

Meagan enjoys working in the medical field and medical billing because of the variety of issues she faces every day, whether communicating with the physician, their staff, or their patients.  Meagan is tenacious when it comes to solving medical billing claims issues.

Dina R. Petrutsas, CPA

Senior Management Consultant

Dina earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Texas State University. She has been practicing as a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas for over thirty years. Dina began her career at Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney) as Tax Accountant for a diverse group of clients before serving as Controller for two primary care group practices in San Antonio and for a medical management consulting company.

 

Dina then went on to own and operate a public accounting practice for thirteen years in which she specialized in financial accounting and taxation for a variety of physician clients. Dina added to her already extensive experience in healthcare by serving for seven years as CFO of a medical practice with six locations and over 40 employees.

Dina is a member of the UTHSCSA Planned Giving Advisory Council, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), Texas Medical Group Management Association (Texas MGMA), San Antonio Medical Group Management Association (SAMGMA), Healthcare Think Tank, The Health Cell, Texas Society of CPAs, San Antonio Chapter of CPAs, and National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She also serves as the Entrepreneurial Connections Committee Co-Chair for the NAWBO San Antonio Chapter, whose mission is to mentor teen girls to explore entrepreneurship. Dina has also held board positions for various local PTAs since 1996.

 

Dina is very dedicated and passionate about her accounting career and abides by the highest professional standards and work ethics.

Barbara Newman

Senior Management Consultant

Barbara Newman joins Concordis’ team as a Senior Consultant bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in all areas of practice management in many different medical specialties. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of New Orleans. Her expertise includes practice startup, financial budgeting and management, human resources, operations, compliance, policies and procedures, process improvement, patient centered care, and team building.

 

She has held several Senior Leadership positions, most recently as VP of Operations for MedSpring Urgent Care where she was responsible for a nationwide network of urgent care centers. Prior to this role, Barbara was an Accreditation Surveyor for the Urgent Care Association whereby she began, along with several other colleagues, the Urgent Care Association (UCA) Accreditation Program. Her focus in this role demonstrates her passion to assist clients in providing safe and quality patient care.

Barbara remains on the Urgent Care Association Accreditation Committee as well as currently serving as Chairman of the Practice Management Content Committee and Strategic Partnership Committee. She also served on the Urgent Care Association Board of Directors from 2013 through 2016. Barbara is the author of two publications regarding Urgent Care Accreditation Survey tips and advice. She was a member of the Greater New Orleans Medical Group Management Association and Louisiana Medical Group Management Association where she was actively involved.

 

Barbara has demonstrated a history of leading teams toward success through strategic planning and process implementation. She is a proven leader dedicated to helping practices grow and be successful and believes in empowering staff.

Regina Solorio, CPC

Medical Coder

Regina is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Billing Specialist with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare field. She earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration and Certified Medical Office Specialist. In addition, she received her CPC Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Her expertise is diverse and includes billing specialization and coding in various specialties including Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, Pediatrics, and General Surgery. Regina began her journey as a billing specialist for HCP Consulting Services in San Antonio, Texas. She was personally responsible for accounts receivable management, and primary and secondary claims for several physician clients.

Before joining Concordis, Regina was a coder with Methodist Physicians HCA where she reviewed and coded cardiology, general surgery, and psychology charges.

 

Regina maintains her motivation for her work by striving to be a team-oriented professional. Her exceptional organizational skills allow her to quickly adapt to the ever changing healthcare industry. Always ahead of the learning curve, Regina makes a valuable addition to the Concordis Practice Management team.

Novella Jones Ousley, CPC

Medical Coder

Novella is an AAPC Certified Professional Coder with over twenty years of medical collections and coding experience. Her coding expertise is wide reaching and includes primary care as well as multiple specialties in outpatient and inpatient settings. Novella began her career as Collections Specialist at Bee County Regional Medical Center before serving as Coder and Claims Specialist for a number of practices.

 

In 2006, Novella assumed the role of Coding/Documentation Trainer for Healthcare Resolution Services Inc. In this role, Novella provided education to both doctors and other healthcare personnel at Lackland Air Force Base in proper documentation as a means to improve provider accuracy. In 2010, Novella moved to University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where she served as Medical Coder. In this capacity, Novella coded all diagnoses, procedures, and HCPCS codes for multiple specialties. She also served as a member of the UTHSCSA EPIC Edit Review Committee to ensure the necessity of various edits and reviews generated by computer software.

Most recently, Novella worked as Medical Coder at South Texas Veteran Healthcare System where she coded numerous outpatient medical services, including anesthesiology and pathology. She also provided coding guidance to various medical personnel to ensure maximum charge capture and educate staff.

 

Novella is an exceptional speaker and educator who specializes in training doctors and healthcare staff in proper medical records documentation. She is highly proficient in all coding regulations and guidelines as well as Medicare and Medicaid claims procedures.
